"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Yup, hit the nail right on the head for me!
I got the same as you - couldn't be further off! But I think I probably say different words outloud differently than I say them in my head. I ALWAYS get asked if I'm from California! I've got the Valley Girl thing going!
Says I am from the midlands
damn my Canadian roots
I got "from the West"
I wonder if there is a Canadian version of this.
I was born in New Jersey but I'm a Southerner Y'all...
Southerner, by Gawd!
I am thinking I lost some of my NY accent living in FL for the past 20 years but I don't know how that mixture would get me living in IL.
Why? What's wrong with IL? Seriously, though, it does suck at life.
