One of my favorite things is blobbing on the sofa for a couple of hours with my legs tucked under me, pint of ice cream in one hand, big soup spoon in the other, enjoying a great film.

If I like a movie, I will watch it over and over again before I toss it in the cabinet with all the other..tossed aside for now... but will certainly watch again someday..DVDs.

Unfortunately, sometimes it is so hard to find something worthy of spending those two hours on. I have "Movies on Demand" but that consists of mostly films that were made to keep B actors working.

I stumbled upon this. 100 Movie To See Before You Die..

I have seen exactly half of them. I wasn't surprised that there weren't many recent films included. There is so much crap being made. However, I was surprised that Gone With the Wind, Braveheart, Casino, Forest Gump and Close Encounters weren't there.

What are some of your favorites that you think are missing?

My top 100 would be different. I agree that you can't have a top 100 without Casino or Braveheart. Also this list needs True Grit. And Unforgiven.

And Goldfinger is the only Bond movie on the list? Pffffft .. please.

I would say Breakfast At Tiffany's should be on that list (b/c I love Audrey Hepburn movies). At least they got Roman Holiday, though - that's a great one. Thanks for the link.

Try the movie "once were warriors" Its a undersold New Zealand film that will always be in my top ten. Its part chick flick, part action and it has strong characters and great acting

I agree with razorbeck. The Evil Twin and I have watched that one loads of times. I'd have to put something directed by John Waters on the list too - probably Hairspray.

I tend to agree with the Steven King suggestions like Shawshank and Green Mile.

However, I think they are more a must read than see.

I forgot about Breakfast Club and that should be on there too.

Hmmm...ok, I've seen 53 of those listed. I would add a couple, 'Stand By Me' (written by Stephen King) and 'My Bodyguard' (with Chris Makepeace, Adam Baldwin, Matt Dillion)

Definitely “Debbie Does Dallas,” “The Devil In Miss Jones“ and “Taboo.” All ran for over twenty years in the theaters.

I did a post back in 2005 about my favorite 100 movies. I have it liated on the sidebar of my blog. Actually, it turned out to be 103 because I guess I cant count. Anyway, I have seen 54 of the movies on the 100 movies to see before you die list, but only 10 of my favorite movies made the cut. What about To Sir, With Love or West Side Story, or Guess Who's Coming To Dinner??
